VMware Workstation Error – Module ‘Disk’ power on failed

I was unable to turn on my guest machine on VMWare Workstation 14 Pro. Everytime I turn the power ON, I got the following error message:

Failed to lock the file
Cannot open the disk ‘/home/dhani/vmware/UbuntuServer1604/UbuntuServer1604.vmdk’ or one of the snapshot disks it depends on.
Module ‘Disk’ power on failed.
Failed to start the virtual machine.

How to solve this error?

If you check in the guest machine directory, you will see .lck file/folder. Try to delete this .lck file and restart your Guest machine.

I removed the .lck directories and now my Guest machine run smoothly.
