Struggling to Install Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2019 on an Old ThinkPad T420

I know it may sound crazy but I want to try running the latest Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2019 on my old Lenovo ThinkPad T420 notebook series. This laptop comes with nVidia Quadro NVS 4200M. I have no idea if this is a good graphics card or not for Premiere Pro. So here is my experience and my struggle to make it work.

The Installation

The Adobe Premiere Pro installation went pretty well. Basically, there is no problem with the installation. I can run Premiere Pro 2019 smoothly. Well, even it takes a bit longer, but at least I can run this software on my old laptop. It was a great experience for me.

The Problem

After installation, I try to create a new project and load some footages to my project. And the problem begins. I cannot see my video preview. The sound is working but there is no video preview shown on Premiere Pro. When I check the Project Settings, I cannot change the video rendering and playback settings. I am pretty sure that this is because my graphics card does not support Premiere pro.

In this situation, I cannot see the video previews in Premiere Pro.

The Fix

To fix this issue, I go to nVidia website and download the latest nVidia driver for my graphics card. And thankfully there is a special driver for my card.

And now I can see the video previews and now Premiere Pro CC 2019 working properly on my system. But, I cannot use the hardware render feature. Sad, but I have to deal with this.
