Oracle VirtualBox is a free virtualization software which you can use to power up multiple operating systems on a single host. I have been using VirtualBox for some years now. Usually I test the new Linux distribution on my VirtualBox before install it on a dedicated PC or server. VirtualBox is available for Windows, Mac and also Linux. In this article, I am going to show you how to install VirtualBox on Ubuntu 19.04.

Steps to Install VirtualBox on Ubuntu 19.04

Step 1. Download Oracle VirtualBox for Ubuntu

Oracle, the VirtualBox developer provides a special file format for Ubuntu users. First, we need to download this DEB file. Use the link below to obtain the DEB package.

https://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/6.0.12/virtualbox-6.0_6.0.12-133076~Ubuntu~bionic_amd64.deb

Step 2. Install the VirtualBox

Once you have the DEB file, you can start install it. Right-click the DEB file and then choose Open with Software Install.

Next, click Install and the installation should start immediately.

Now you can start using Oracle VirtualBox on Ubuntu 19.04
