Build and Deploy a PostgreSQL Server in the Cloud with Linode

I have been using Linode for several years now. It’s been a great experience when using their service. I moved from Digital Ocean to Linode due to some reasons. It’s not the best but I can get what I need with Linode. It is not a paid article. So, in this article, I will guide you how to create a PostgreSQL server in the cloud with Linode.

Create a new Account

or Login with your account.

From your Linode dashboard page, go to Marketplace and click One-Click page to see all available applications. Click PostgreSQL from the list.

Next, scroll down to select the region. Pick the region from the list. In this example, I use Singapore. Then, choose the plan. You can start from as low as $5 per month with 1 CPU, 25 GB storage and 1 GB of RAM.

You can upgrade the plan anytime in the future. Give the new server a name and create a new root password.

Finally, click Create button to create the server. Wait for a few moments until the provisioning process completes.

Now click Launch Console to open the server console where we can start configuring our PostgreSQL Server.

We can also connect to the server from Terminal.
