Install Stremio on Ubuntu 18.10

Stremio is my favorite movie streaming application. I have been using this free movie streaming app on my Android, Windows as well as Linux. Today, I am going to show you how to install Stremio on Ubuntu 18.10. Stremio is a special application, a one-stop hub for video content aggregation. Discover, organize and watch video from all kind of sources on any device that you own.

Apart from the controversy about the legality of Stremio, as well as Popcorn Time, this software works very well on any devices I use, except on some iOS devices.

Steps to Install Stremio on Ubuntu 18.10

I have tested this tutorial on my Ubuntu 18.10 laptop and everything works very well. So first, let’s download Stremio installation package for Ubuntu from this link.

You will get a file called: stremio_4.4.25-1_amd64.deb. Now open Terminal and cd to your download directory. For example:

cd ~/Downloads

And then execute this command to install

sudo dpkg -i stremio_4.4.25-1_amd64.deb

In most cases, you will get a dependency error. Use this command to fix it.

sudo apt-get -f install

Wait until the installation process is completed. Now you should be able to run Stremio and start watch your favorite movies or series. Enjoy.
